Wise Enterprises Inc. | Wise Companies Inc. (hereinafter “Wise Market”) pays particular attention to the protection of your personal information on its platform at www.wise.market (the “Platform”). This privacy policy (the "Policy") is designed to comply with Canadian federal and provincial laws relating to the protection of personal information and is intended to explain to you how we collect, use and disclose your personal information. . This policy does not apply to information about our employees or suppliers.

 

 

1. Introduction

 

Use of our Platform is subject to compliance withour Terms & Conditions of Use  and this Policy. If you access or use our Platform, sign up for a subscription or purchase our products, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions contained in these documents. If you do not agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, please do not access our Platform or use its features.

 

 

1. Modification of the Policy

 

Wise reserves the right to modify the content of this Policy at any time. Any changes made will appear on our Platform. The date of the latest version of this Policy appears at the bottom of the page. We recommend that you print a copy of this Policy for your records and review this section of our Platform periodically. By continuing to use our Platform following a Policy change, you confirm your acceptance to be bound by the modified terms and conditions.

 

 

1. Witnesses

 

Your use of our Platform allows Wise to automatically compile certain information about your user profile, which may include the Internet Protocol address (or IP address) of your computer, your geolocation area, the operating system you are using, the identity of your internet service provider, the date and time you accessed this Platform, the previous website you visited that provided you with a link to our Platform, and the content viewed and downloaded on our Platform.

 

To do this, our Platform uses cookies, i.e. small data files that are saved on your computer when you visit it. Wise and its service providers use this information to adapt our Platform to your preferences and to compile statistics about the consultation and use of our Platform in order to improve it.

 

If you wish, you can configure your browser to notify you when you receive cookies or to refuse them. You do not need to accept cookies to visit our Platform. But if you refuse them, you may not be able to use certain features of our Platform.

 

 

1. Consent

 

Wise recognizes that your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information about you must be clear, free and informed. It must be given for specific purposes. Depending on the nature and sensitivity of the personal information, your consent may be express (such consent may be given verbally, in writing or electronically) or implied (for example when you voluntarily provide us with personal information). If we collect sensitive information about you, we will obtain your express consent. Generally, Wise will seek your consent at the time the information is collected, unless we are required or otherwise permitted by law to do so.

 

You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to applicable legal restrictions and the provision of reasonable notice. Please note that if you choose to withdraw your consent to the collection, use or disclosure of your personal information, Wise may not be able to provide you with certain products or services.

 

 

1. Collection of your personal information

 

Wise only collects personal information about you that is necessary to establish, manage and maintain our relationship with you and to complete the transactions you make on our Platform. For example, but not limited to, personal information may be collected when you register to access your online account, sign up to receive our newsletter, complete a transaction or participate in other interactive online activities. . The personal information collected may include, among other things, identification information, such as your first and last name, date of birth, email address, telephone number, residential address and credit card information.

 

Generally, Wise obtains the information directly from you. However, we may also collect personal information about you from outside sources with your consent or without your consent, where permitted by law.

 

 

1. Use of your personal information

 

The purposes for which Wise collects your personal information are determined before or at the time of collection. Wise may use personal information about you for the following purposes:

 

• identify you as a user of our Platform and allow you to access your account;

• establish and maintain our business relationship with you and provide you with efficient and personalized service;

• train, improve and power the technology underlying the operation of our Platform, including algorithms and other artificial intelligence technologies;

• understand and identify your needs and preferences in order to offer you personalized products and services;

• complete the transactions you make on our Platform;

• follow up on your orders with our suppliers and the delivery of products ordered through the Platform;

• process a request for service or fulfillment of a warranty, return or refund;

• improve our range of services, including the use of this Platform;

• communicate with you when you submit questions, comments and suggestions;

• provide you with information about our company and our products and services that may be of interest to you;

• prevent errors and fraud;

• meet the requirements of the law.

 

Wise may also use your personal information to compile statistics. However, these statistics do not identify you and have been anonymized.

 

Your personal information will not be used for purposes other than those listed above, unless we have obtained your consent, or if the law requires or authorizes it.

 

 

1. Communication of your personal information to third parties

 

Wise acknowledges that, except in the cases and subject to the conditions described below or when authorized by law, the communication of your personal information to third parties requires your consent. 

 

Access to your personal information within our company does not require your consent, but is strictly limited to those persons for whom this information is necessary for the exercise of their functions and responsibilities.

 

Wise may share your personal information, without your consent, with its agents, service providers or consultants who need this information in connection with Wise's activities or in order to help Wise administer and deliver its services. These agents, service providers and consultants will contractually guarantee that they will use your personal information only to provide specific services, that they will keep it confidential in accordance with this Policy and that they will destroy or return it to Wise once once the service has been provided, without keeping a copy.

 

Wise may also, without your consent, disclose your personal information where permitted or required by law.

 

Whenever Wise needs to disclose personal information about you, we will endeavor not to disclose more information than is required in the circumstances.

 

You have the right to know, upon request, to whom your personal information is disclosed and the circumstances that led to its disclosure. You will find in section 11 of the Policy the contact information for making a request in this regard.

 

Please note that if a third party to whom we transfer personal information about you operates in a foreign jurisdiction, local law may allow third parties to otherwise have access to your personal information without your consent.

 

 

1. Data Protection

 

Wise has implemented a series of security measures to protect your personal information against loss or theft as well as against any unauthorized consultation, communication, reproduction, use and modification.

 

These security measures include physical measures that are reasonable given the sensitivity of the information, its use, quantity, distribution and medium.

 

Wise also takes the necessary steps to ensure that all of its employees are informed about the content of the Policy and informed about the practices regarding the protection of personal information. However, as no mechanism offers flawless security, some risk is always present. It is also your responsibility, if you create an account on our Platform, to protect your password and to change it regularly.

 

If a security incident relating to personal information occurs, Wise will disclose, when required, the occurrence of this incident to the Commission d'accès à l'information and the persons concerned and will adopt measures to reduce the impact of this security incident on the people concerned. Wise will also investigate the security incident and adopt methods to reduce the risk of a similar or similar security incident occurring again. Wise maintains a log of all security incidents involving personal information.

 

 

1. Accuracy of your personal information

 

Wise recognizes the importance of personal information being accurate, complete and up-to-date, and takes reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information it uses or discloses. You can update your personal information at any time by logging into your account on our Platform.

 

Wise has appointed Ms. Marie-Ève Vézina, President, as the person responsible for the protection of personal information (the "Responsible"). The Controller is responsible for compliance with the Policy and compliance with applicable privacy laws.

 

All questions or concerns regarding the Policy or about the collection, use or communication of your personal information, including requests for access or rectification, must be formulated in writing and addressed to the Manager at the following coordinates :

You have the right to request to see and have access to the personal information that is held about you by Wise. You also have the right to obtain confirmation that we hold personal information about you. We will communicate your personal information to you, when collected electronically, in a structured and commonly used technological format. You can also request that your personal information be rectified if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous, or if its collection, communication or storage is not authorized by law.

 

Wise will respond to any request for access or rectification within 30 days of the date of receipt of the written request. In the event of a refusal to provide or correct the information, Wise will provide the data subject with the reasons supporting his refusal and the applicable articles of law which support his refusal, subject to the restrictions provided for in the law, and will inform him of its appeals. If Wise refuses to rectify your personal information, we will allow you to place in your file written comments with respect to the personal information which was the subject of the refusal of rectification. Wise will also retain personal information subject to an access request for as long as necessary to allow you to exhaust legal remedies.
